If you're a true geek, one that ranks pretty highly is probably your smartphone battery dying in the middle of... well, anything. And Samsung appears to have a remedy for that.
SEE ALSO: Samsung's foldable phone-tablet might finally arrive in 2019In its new teaser for the upcoming Galaxy Note 9, Samsung focuses on an annoying issue all smartphones have — the ever-dwindling battery life. The 30-second video shows what happens when you really need your phone to survive just a few more minutes, but the battery can't keep up, no matter what you do.
Amazingly, there's no iPhone in sight. Instead, Samsung is using one of its own phones as an example — implying that, come August 9, this won't be an issue any more. The video ends with the tagline, "A lot can change in a day," and it's accompanied by the description that says "On August 9th, 2018, power will no longer be a problem."
Unfortunately, we haven't found any clues as to how, exactly, Samsung plans to do this. For now, we'll just settle on the likeliest option: That the Note 9 will simply have a bigger battery than its predecessor. Rumors say it will be a considerable bump -- from 3,300mAh to 4,000mAh -- but let's wait till August 9 to find out.
Samsung's Galaxy Note series is still haunted by bitter memories of the Note 7, which had a big battery that was prone to bursting into flames. Truth be told, the company has successfully recovered from the fiasco, having launched several more flagship phones with no battery issues since then.
