Different continent995 Archives same old CNN-hating Trump.
On Friday, the U.S. president upheld his vendetta against CNN when he denied a question from Chief White House Correspondent Jim Acosta, and instead devoted a good 20 seconds during his UK press conference with Prime Minister Theresa May to calling the media company "fake news."
SEE ALSO: Just 15 minutes into the Twitter purge, Trump has already lost 100K followers"Since you attacked CNN can I ask you a question?" Acosta can be heard asking during the question-and-answer portion of the presser.
"No. No... CNN is fake news I don't take questions — I don't take questions from CNN. CNN is fake news I don't take questions from CNN," Trump said into the microphone.
Following his insults, Trump immediately called on John Roberts of Fox, saying, "Let's go to a real network," to which Acosta yelled, "Well we're a real network too, sir."
Trump has had a long-standing feud with CNN and often tweets negatively about the network's coverage of him. Meanwhile, he frequently praises the right-leaning Fox and willingly takes interviews with Fox & Friends.

Though CNN-bashing is no new thing for Trump, many wondered at the fact that he went out of his way during an international press conference to insinuate that CNN is not a real network, and the fact that other media outlets allowed it to happen.

According to The Hill, at the end of the press conferenceTrump received another question from Acosta as he was leaving the podium. The White House correspondent reportedly asked if Trump planned to tell Russian President Vladimir Putin to stay out of U.S. elections in the future, to which Trump answered "yes."
Still, Trump's insistence on painting the media as "the enemy of the American people" isn't likely to let up any time soon.
A spokesperson from Fox reached out to Mashable on Friday afternoon to provide the following statement from White House Correspondent John Roberts:
"In today's press conference, I paused while my colleague from CNN went back and forth with President Trump over a question. When it became clear that the president wasn't going to entertain a question from him, I proceeded with my question, as did my fellow colleagues in the press corps. I know Kristen Welker of NBC. She is honest as the day is long. For the President to call her dishonest is unfair. I also used to work at CNN. There are some fine journalists who work there and risk their lives to report on stories around the world. To issue a blanket condemnation of the network as 'fake news' is also unfair."
