Here's something you probably never expected to read:
Former President Bill Clinton is xnxx | Adult Movies Onlinepublishing his first novel. It's a mystery thriller. With James Patterson. About a missing president. Trying to save the world from cyberterrorism.
And yet...
On Monday, Clinton made his fiction debut with a new book co-written with Patterson called The President is Missing.
SEE ALSO: Pete Souza is releasing an entire book of nothing but Trump shadeThe novel follows President Jonathan Lincoln Duncan who is facing impeachment after he puts in a mysterious call to a notorious cyberterrorist. But Duncan's call isn't what it seems. The President is actually trying to stop a cyberattack that could shake the world; and in his efforts to save the day, the President (as the title suggests) goes missing.
The novel is Clinton's first work of fiction and joins his lineup of non-fiction books including 2011's Back to Workand 2004's My Life.
On Sunday, a day before the The President Is Misssing's debut, Clinton and Patterson spoke to a crowded room at BookCon to give a little context and insight into the novel.
The first thing the duo shared was that the collaboration was orchestrated by Clinton and Patterson's lawyer and agent Robert Barnett. "Actually, Bob did it." Patterson explained. "He came to the president first and said would you be interested [in writing a book]."
But what helped fuel the partnership was Clinton's love of thrillers.
"I read 100 thrillers a year," Clinton shared. "I love 'em. It's my sugar high."
From there, they set about writing, each helping with story, outline, and research, and with Clinton providing insight and experience from his time in office of course.
"We agreed on generally what the direction would be, there was an outline, we agreed on what my earliest responsibilities would be, he sent me 20 questions, and then we traded drafts to the very end."

But despite Clinton's own inside knowledge and similarity to the character in the book, both authors emphasized that the book is fiction, and not a commentary on the current presidency.
"The president is notmissing," James Patterson quipped. "And we're reminded every morning when a tweet comes out."
That's not to say that the authors wanted to completely separate the book from the real world. "We want it to be thrilling and interesting, but real," said Patterson.
To that end, while the characters and scenarios that occur throughout the book are made up, Clinton and Patterson wants the book to spark an IRL conversation about the importance of cybersecurity.
"I hope that one of the practical things that comes out of this is a huge bipartisan effort to build better systems to protect your bank accounts, your privacy," said Clinton.
"And that we can actually cooperate with other countries," followed up Patterson. "It's in all countries' interest that we can defend against what happens in this book."
But even with their promise to be apolitical, Clinton and Patterson did get in a few jabs about our current political climate.
When asked about the importance of technology, Clinton answered "Any politician who uses email needs his or her head examined," a notable reference to the email scandal that dogged the Hillary Clinton campaign in throughout 2015 and 2016.
And when asked about why start off the book with impeachment, Patterson teased "No reason," the elephant in the room being Bill Clinton's own impeachment in 1998 and the current talks of obstruction of justice and collusion that the Donald Trump presidency currently face in 2018.
Overall, though, the partnership seemed like a good writing experience for both authors. Clinton seemed enamored by the fiction writing experience. "Sometimes [fiction] is more true to life. You can communicate truth through fiction, and still make it interesting."
And though they wouldn't confirm a sequel, Patterson didn't rule out further collaboration either.
"You know what, as the president said, we really had a lot of fun doing the book together... so I think we're just enjoying it right now, and if we come to the agreement that there's another Duncan book to tell, then we'll deal with that."
"The President Is Missing" is out now from Little, Brown and Company and Knopf.
