Samsung's upcoming,Watch Angel Has Fallen Online vertically foldable smartphone will be called Galaxy Bloom.
The name's not exactly new; it was a rumored codename for the smartphone since last October. But now, SamMobile reports that Samsung has actually revealed the Galaxy Bloom name as official at a closed CES meeting with partners.
Other tidbits coming from that meeting, reportedly: Galaxy Bloom's design was inspired by a Lancôme makeup powder case, and Samsung plans to target women in their twenties with the product.
The same report also confirms earlier rumors that the successor to the Galaxy S10 will be called Galaxy S20. Three models will be launched in February: Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, Galaxy S20 Ultra.
One technical detail coming out of the report is that both the Galaxy Bloom and Galaxy S20 will support 8K video recording. And we've previously heard that the Bloom will have a 6.7-inch display and come with Android 10, which is expected but still a nice touch.
In December, we've heard that the price for the Bloom will be surprisingly low at $845. This, while unconfirmed, would make it a lot more affordable than the $1,980 Galaxy Fold, and would make it the first foldable phone from a major manufacturer that's available under a thousand bucks (Motorola's foldable Razr, which has a similar form factor, costs $1,499).
The launch date for both devices is Feb. 11. The actual successor to Galaxy Fold is slated to be launched later in the year, per previous reports.
