Warning: Contains spoilers for Game of ThronesSeason 7,Watch The Running Mates: Human Rights Online episode 5, but has NO INFORMATION RELATED TO THE EPISODE 6 LEAK (these are honest predictions from someone who has no idea what's going to happen, I promise).
I'm talking, of course, about Jon Snow's White Walker-hunters/The Magnificent Seven/loose-end characters who desperately need some kind of quick resolution to tie up their storylines.
They've been given what is quite possibly the most ridiculous plot in the show so far. It's going to be insanely dangerous, insanely fun, and the only certainty is this: some of them are going to die. Probably most of them.
SEE ALSO: 'Game of Thrones' episode 6 photos hint that Daenerys is preparing to go 'Beyond the Wall'From the definitely-soon-to-be-dead Thoros to the too-much-plot-armour-to-kill-off Jon Snow, we've ranked the characters in order of how likely they are to perish on Sunday.
Chances of dying:Practically already dead.
Reason:Look, Thoros doesn't have a chance. There's just no way. Not only is he the least memorable of the seven, but he also has a power that'll need to be squashed right away so it doesn't interfere with the storyline: he can bring people back from the dead. The showrunners can't have Thoros running around resurrecting people willy-nilly anymore, so he'll have to go. He doesn't even have a cool sword.
Chances of dying:Literally already dead (but will almost certainly die for good this time).
Reason:Sorry, Beric: you may have a cool flaming sword, but that's simply not going to be enough to cut it. In the books, Beric is already long-dead: he now has no other purpose in the show except to add to the body count in Jon Snow's White Walker quest.
Chances of dying:Pretty much guaranteed.
Reason:When it comes to minor characters on Game of Throneswho disappear for a few seasons and then come back, there's a pattern. Osha? Dead. Rickon? Dead. Gendry? Very soon to be dead, we'd bet money on it. Plus there's the fact the Hound is holding his hammer in the episode 6 trailer -- why would he have Gendry's hammer if its owner hadn't already croaked?
Chances of dying:High, but not certain.
Reason:Tormund is a good character. He's badass; he's got a cool beard; he's good comedy value. I don't want him to die. Admittedly there's a chance he could come out of this unscathed in order to finally strike up that romance with Brienne we've all been craving, but it's a slim chance. He has very little plot armour, and he's a fan favourite -- exactly why the showrunners will likely give him a tragic demise.
Chances of dying:Fairly high.
Reason:To justify having a whole episode set largely in one location, there's going to have to be some moments of serious drama. Thoros, Beric, and Gendry don't have the fan points required to drum up enough drama from their own deaths alone. Arguably, though, Ser Jorah does. He's another popular one with fans, and after he's just recovered from that pesky greyscale his death would be suitably shocking. It could also be the catalyst that makes Daenerys take the White Walker threat seriously.
Chances of dying:50/50
Reason:I can't call this one. On the one hand, it feels like the Hound is at the end of the road: he's already cheated death once, and now he doesn't have much of a purpose left. On the other hand, he's still got someplot armour: it would be interesting for him to see Arya again, for instance. If I had to guess, I'd say a maximum of 1-3 characters out of the seven will survive the trip beyond the wall. The Hound and Ser Jorah are the biggest question marks, but I'd say the former may have a slightly better chance than the latter.
Chances of dying:Practically zero.
Reason:I'm pretty confident Jon Snow won't die for a bunch of reasons, but the main one is this: the Game of Thronescostume designer has already confirmed that he meets Cersei at some point in Season 7. For that to happen, he has to come away from his mission relatively unscathed. Unless he completes his mission beyond the wall and returns to King's Landing all in the space of one episode, he'll be sticking around until next week's finale at least. Plus it would be pretty crazy to kill him off just as his true heritage -- which the show's been building up to for ages now -- is on the cusp of being revealed.
