'Twas the night before Christmas, bigfoot eroticism and all through the web ... well, somethingwas stirring.
Pornhub makes the case that you don't need mistletoe to enjoy yourself this holiday season in its latest innuendo-laden Christmas ad.
SEE ALSO: Pornhub wants you to give your family porn this holidayIn the 90-second video, various people settle in for what looks to be a dreary Christmas eve spent alone as melancholy holiday music sets the scene.
But the mood changes as Santa's sleigh flies overhead and apparently unlocks a premium membership to the adult site for each of the dejected yuletide celebrants.
Their eyes light up with delight, and we're led to presume that each passes the rest of the night away warmed by the soft glow of online sex -- though the ad never actually shows anything dirty.
Holiday advertising obsessives might note that each of these solitary characters are pulled directly from separate Christmas ads that aired last year in what the company says is a deliberate homage.
It might not be exactly the type of thing Norman Rockwell would have pictured, but the ad is a good deal less creepy than the one the company ran last year, in which a man bonds with his grandfather over a porn account.
Pornhub, which seems to have carved out a niche as one of the less sleazy sites of its industry, said it wanted to make the holiday ad a tradition after the success of last year's campaign.
“After last year’s spot we decided we wanted our Christmas campaign to become a hallmark of the holiday season for the whole family,” Corey Price, a Pornhub VP, said in a statement.
