Suunto says the 9 Peak is 37 percent thinner and 36 percent lighter than its predecessor, the Suunto 9 Baro, making it the thinnest and smallest sports watch the company has ever released.

The new features on this one include blood oxygen level measurements, really fast charging (100 percent battery in 1 hour, Suunto says), Bluetooth 5 support, and automatic backlight intensity adjustment depending on lighting conditions.
The watch is tough and durable, with a case made of "grade 5 titanium" and a sapphire glass face, and has a battery that will last for 170 hours with GPS turned on. Despite the tough materials used, the watch looks less sporty and rugged than the Suunto 9 Baro, with a thin bezel and buttons that don't protrude as noticeably from the side — Suunto calls this "new minimalistic Nordic design."
Credit: SUUNTO The Suunto 9 Peak does make some concessions when compared to the Suunto 9 Baro, probably because of its light and thin design. For example, it only has a display resolution of 240x240 pixels, compared to the Baro's 320x300 pixel resolution.
