BOOK FOR UNDER $1,Dear Utol (2025): Catfish Episode 46000: Delta Air Lines added an additional flight on April 8 that follows the solar eclipse path of totality. Seats on Delta flight 1010 from Dallas-Fort Worth to Detroit are still available for as low as $979.
The U.S. is in for a special show on April 8 this year. A rare total solar eclipse will pass over Mexico and into Texas before heading northeast over Arkansas, Illinois, and Indiana, to name just a few states along the eclipse path. To view the eclipse, the weather will need to cooperate by offering clear skies. Unfortunately, April's cloud cover can be unpredictable and if you're not willing to risk missing out on this epic event, taking to the skies could be your best option. Luckily, Delta is catering to eclipse chasers and there's still a seat available for you.
As of Feb. 28, you can still book a seat on Delta Air Lines flight 1010 for as little as $979, which buys a seat in the main cabin. If you prefer a refundable ticket in the main cabin, the price bumps up to $1,109. Delta 1010 is a one-way flight leaving from the Dallas-Fort Worth airport at 12:30 p.m. and will follow the eclipse path to land in Detroit, Michigan at 4:20 p.m. on April 8.
Delta flight 1010 is the airline's second flight operating on a special route that will follow the eclipse path of totality and aims to give passengers an unobstructed view of the phenomenon. Delta's first flight offering sold out, which spurred this second flight on a larger aircraft: an A321neo with room for 194 lucky passengers.
After donning eclipse glasses, you'll be treated to some of the most special views of a truly spectacular event hosted by Mother Nature. Does the flight cost more than a typical Dallas to Detroit flight? Absolutely. Will you regret grabbing one of the best seats on the globe to witness a total solar eclipse? Unlikely.
Since Delta's first special solar eclipse flight sold out, we recommend snagging your seat as soon as possible. There's still room in the main cabin on Delta 1010 on April 8 with ticket prices going as low as $979.
