The identities of the people behind the account are, of course, still unknown.
While the Trump administration continues to play whack-a-mole with rebellious National Parks Service Twitter accounts, a new account has sprung up to fill the void and lead this new resistance online.
SEE ALSO: Someone at the National Park Service is obviously not happy about Trump's inaugurationThe account, calling itself "AltUSNatParkService," has taken up the sword for the likes of the NPS's primary account and the Badlands National Park account, which spent the days immediately following Donald Trump's inauguration tweeting and retweeting climate change facts until the Trump administration managed to shut them down.

There's no word on who, exactly, is running the new, unofficial account, or whether it's actual NPS employees or simply supporters of the recent NPS rebellion. It's description reads, in part, "the Unofficial 'Resistance' team of U.S. National Park Service."
But, they insist, they arereal people.

Mashablehas reached out to the team via Twitter (the only way to contact them at the moment) for a request for interview.

Some of the tweets, like the one above, seem to indicate that perhaps it is controlled by NPS employees but, again, there's no definitive proof of that yet.

What is certain is that the owners of the account, whoever they may be, are staunch supporters of the NPS and the aforementioned recent efforts to get out the word about climate change as an administration that treats climate change as a made-up thing takes control.

Another big event the account has been pushing is the upcoming Scientists' March On Washington.

They also have a great sense of humor, which is surely helping their account spread to supporters.

As of the publishing of this post, the account has already amassed nearly 250,000 followers and that number is growing every time you click the refresh button. The account was created in May 2015, but only started regularly tweeting on Tuesday. Outside of the recent tweets, @AltNatParkSer tweeted at the the Scottish political website, Wings Over Scotland, in 2015. Although, the tweet provides us little clue to who is behind the account.
Whether or not the Trump administration will respond to the account is unknown, just like a lot of things about the new administration, but, so far, their cause is fast becoming one that many can rally around.
