The title itself references one of Moore's most famous documentaries, Fahrenheit 9/11, which focused on the country after the election of George W. Bush and the events that unfolded after the September 11 attacks in 2001.
Fahrenheit 11/9refers to the day that Trump was officially announced as the next U.S. president, and the title seems to liken his election to have had as much of an impact on the country as the September 11 attacks did.
Throughout the trailer, there are snippets that show the wide range of topics that will be covered in the documentary, including the water crisis in Flint, Michigan, the emboldening of white nationalists, an increase in toxic nationalism, as well as New York congressional democratic primary winner Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
Fahrenheit 11/9lands in theaters Sept. 21.
