A petitioncalling for the UK government to block Donald Trump from making a state visit to the country has gathered more than 1 million signatures in less than 48 hours.

The petition then goes on to say: "During the term of his presidency Donald Trump should not be invited to the United Kingdom for an official State Visit."
Trump was invited to come for a state visit after he met Prime Minister Theresa May in Washington D.C. on Friday. But his Muslim travel ban has caused outrage on the other side of the Atlantic and around the world.
The petition quickly reached the 100,000 signatures needed for it to be considered to be debated in parliament. At the time of writing this, it stood at 1,315,815 signatures.
