Peter Capaldi's run on arabian night eroticismDoctor Whomay soon be coming to an end, but the eccentric 12th Doctor has definitely left his mark on the TARDIS. And you can see that mark -- literally -- in this limited-edition crystal TARDIS from the BBC.
SEE ALSO: About time: 'Doctor Who' to feature first openly gay TARDIS residentDropped just before the show's season 10 premiere, the 12th Doctor Crystal TARDIS is a clear, laser-engraved version of the TARDIS about the size of square pencil holder (5 inches tall). It looks very cool on its own, but the collectible really comes to life when you bathe it in light from blue LEDs in the stand that comes with.
The TARDIS detail is pretty striking, but it's the ghostly image of Peter Capaldi inside that really catches your eye. The pose and costume come from Capaldi's first press photo in the role, but that's somehow OK... he looks appropriately frozen in time, possibly trapped by some monstrous villain like the Master, the Silence, or Nigel Farage.
At, $99.98, it's a little on the pricey side as Doctor Whotrinkets go, but you get what you pay for (the nearly 3-pound weight really conveys its quality). And if you're not a fan of Capaldi, or just like your time machines to be Doctor-free, the BBC also sells a "clear" version of the crystal TARDIS, with no Doctor inside.
I'm sure it's just parked.
