It happened 12 years ago. She was in her 20s. He was in his 70s. Quincy Jones took Ivanka Trump out for dinner.
That's just one of the wild details to surface in an epic Vulture interview with the music legend. Jones is Watch Playboy: Wet & Wild 3 (1991)best known as a music producer, though he's filled numerous roles over the years: actor, musician, composer, business executive, humanitarian.
SEE ALSO: Oh, Ivanka Trump just *loved* Oprah's Golden Globes speechHe helped a young Michael Jackson achieve stardom, having produced the pop star's early albums Off the Wall, Thriller, and Bad. He's collected multiple Grammys over the years and has received seven Academy Award nominations, including two in a single year for separate movies (In Cold Bloodand Banning, in 1968).
He's famous AF, folks.
So when he was asked about the Trump era and how we got here during Vulture's sprawling interview, filled with name-drops and anecdotes galore, Jones blamed it on "uneducated rednecks" and that "crazy motherfucker" Trump before dropping the unexpected revelation about the president's daughter.
"I used to date Ivanka, you know."
"Date" might be misstating things a bit, given what Jones had to say next. But a dinner definitely happened, at least in his telling.
Twelve years ago. Tommy Hilfiger, who was working with my daughter Kidada, said, "Ivanka wants to have dinner with you." I said, "No problem. She’s a fine motherfucker." She had the most beautiful legs I ever saw in my life. Wrong father, though.
So that happened.

But wait! There's more!
Jones also thinks Paul Allen, the co-founder of Microsoft, is a good musician. Like, a reallygood one. How good, you ask?
He "sings and plays just like Hendrix." NBD.
This revelation is too much for Vulture's David Marchese. His actual response to Jones at that point: "Stop it." But Jones insisted.
Yeah, man. I went on a trip on his yacht, and he had David Crosby, Joe Walsh, Sean Lennon — all those crazy motherfuckers. Then on the last two days, Stevie Wonder came on with his band and made Paul come up and play with him — he’s good, man.
(That link points to a video of Allen in action. And hey, he really is good!)
There's so much moreamazing stuff in this interview. Jones knows who killed John F. Kennedy, and wishes he didn't. He has some choice words for Michael Jackson and Cyndi Lauper. He hated The Beatles the first time he heard them.
As if that's not enough, there's also this vicious dragging of U2.

May we all aspire to one day reach the peak level of DGAFness that Quincy Jones has managed to achieve. Amen and hallelujah.
