Nevertheless, fans of the epic franchise put aside their fears, suited up at the crack of dawn, and got out there to run the galactic course.

The event-filled weekend ensured fun for the whole family, including another half marathon on Sunday, a Star Wars10K, a Star Wars5K, and runDisney kids races. And those who reallyfelt the force was with them could dare to take on the Dark Side Challenge -- a combination of the the Star Wars 10K and Half Marathon. Phew.
