Pokémon Go might have Mister, Do It With Me, Not With Momgotten pretty old pretty quick, but a new augmented reality (AR) game with the same capture-and-battle concept could actually be pretty freaking awesome — because it's a Ghostbusters game, people!
Called "Ghostbusters World," Sony published a trailer for the new game on Friday. It depicts the powers of the Ghostbusters' proton pack and ghost traps getting charged into a smartphone.
The game is described as "an all-new state-of-the-art augmented reality game" in which players "battle and capture hundreds of ghosts from all dimensions of the franchise." The game's Facebook page captioned the video "Specters, poltergeists, full-roaming vapors, and more from your favorite Ghostbusters movies, TV shows, comics and video games are about to invade our world." COOL!
Ghostbusters World is a collaboration between Sony Pictures Entertainment Consumer Products, Ghost Corps and publisher FourThirtyThree Inc. IGN reports that more information will be announced at the Game Developers Conference in March, and that it's currently being demo'd at Google's Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Which means Spain must be a whole lot spookier than usual.
You can stay up to date on game developments by following its Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram. In the meantime, better start working on your aim so you don't cross those streams!
